Autodesk Inventor Award Rewards the team that has the best mechanically designed robot

Autodesk Visualization Award Rewards students for composing the best student animation that innovatively depicts the spirit of the FIRST competition

Chairman’s Award Given to the team that best exemplifies the positive impact that FIRST has on its participants, as well as the community around it; promotes respect for the areas of science and technology; and that best spreads and demonstrates the values of FIRST

Chrysler’s Team Spirit Award Granted to the team that shows the most enthusiasm and teamwork at the Regional and Championship events

Delphi’s “Driving Tomorrow’s Technology” Award Presented to the team that uses a unique and beneficial aspect of their machine, a unique material choice, an innovative programming method, or any other individual approach to the competition

Engineering Inspiration Award Rewards the team that furthers respect for engineers and engineering within their school and community

General Motor’s Industrial Design Award Granted to the team whose robot successfully and efficiently performs the year’s task

Imagery Award Presented to the team with the best uniform and robot aesthetics

Johnson & Johnson Gracious Professionalism Award Given to the team that best displays sportsmanship and Gracious Professionalism through all aspects of the competition

Judge’s Award Recognizes the team that has given an extraordinary effort or incorporated dynamics that deserve recognition

Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award Granted to a team that has developed a successful business model to fulfill its goals since its inception

Motorola Quality Award Celebrates the team whose robot is robust in design and fabrication

Rockwell Automation Innovation in Control Award Presented to a team that has a unique control system or usage of control components to supply an individual function in competition

Underwriters Laboratory Industrial Safety Award Granted to the team that not only demonstrates a knowledge and practice of safety procedures, but also develops innovative procedures to keep others safe

Website Award Recognizes well-designed, built, and maintained websites run by FIRST students

Woodie Flowers Award Presented to mentors who are best able to instill in and communicate to students the engineering principles and values of FIRST

Xerox Creativity Award Granted to the team that shows creativity in design, components, or strategy

The Awards committee is responsible for preparing all of the submissions and applications for awards presented at the Virginia Regional and Championships in Atlanta. These awards include the Chairman’s, the Website Award, Autodesk Visualization Awards, and many others. The skills used by members of this team include presentation, (such as making informative posters,) writing, photography, and video production.
